MZs: ÚGY GONDOLJUK, HOGY TUDATOSAN ÉS KRITIKUSAN CSAK AKKOR TUDJA BÁRKI HASZNÁLNI AZ MI-T, HA ÉRTI AZ ALAPOKAT (PÉLDÁUL HOGY HOGYAN MŰKÖDIK), ÉS VAN RÁLÁTÁSA ARRA IS, HOGY MILYEN ETIKAI KÉRDÉSEKET VET FEL. A könyv felépítése is ezt az elvet követi: az első rész világosan és egyszerűen mutatja be, hogy mi az MI, milyen felhasználási lehetőségei és veszélyei vannak, és ezzel segít megalapozni azt a tudást, ami az értő osztálytermi felhasználáshoz szükséges.

SzJ: Sajnos nem vagyunk meglepődve, hogy az etikus, felelős és biztonságos használat csak zengzetes és semmitmondó szavak sokszor, mivel hiába vannak már kezdetleges szabályozások (pl. Az EU AI Act), nagyon nehéz konkrétan betartatni a fejlesztő cégekkel ezeket a szabályokat. Szerzői jogi perek is bőven vannak per pillanat a legismertebb zenegenerátor oldalak ellen, mégis a felhasználó számára ebből nem látszik sok. MI EZÉRT ABBAN HISZÜNK, HOGY LEGFONTOSABB A TANULÓK GONDOLKODÁSÁT OLYAN SZINTRE FEJLESZTENI, HOGY KÉPESEK LEGYENEK KRITIKUSAN ÉS TUDATOSAN MEGKÖZELÍTENI EZEKET AZ APPLIKÁCIÓKAT, VALAMINT AZ ÁLTALUK GENERÁLT VÁLASZOKAT/TERMÉKEKET. A könyvben található feladatok nagy része különféle reflektív és rávezető kérdésekkel segíti a tanulók értékítéletének (ki)alakulását. Azt is fontosnak tartjuk, hogy ezekben a kérdésekben és ebben a témában nagyon nehéz bármiről is kijelenteni fekete-fehéren, hogy rossz vagy jó, így a tanárnak is nagy szerepe van abban, hogy kulturált vitáknak tudjon helyet adni a tanórán.

MZs: A cél az volt, hogy a kezdőknek és a haladóknak is gyakorlati segítséget nyújtson. BIZTOS LESZ OLYAN OLVASÓ, AKI AZ ELMÉLETI HÁTTÉRREL MÁR TISZTÁBAN VAN, ÉS INKÁBB INSPIRÁCIÓT KERES, HOGY HOGYAN TUDNÁ BEÉPÍTENI EGY-EGY TANÓRÁJÁBA AZ MI HASZNÁLATOT ÉS A KAPCSOLÓDÓ KÉSZSÉGEK FEJLESZTÉSÉT. De szerintem olyan is lesz, aki az alapozó fejezeteket alaposan átolvassa, és ez segít neki abban, hogy magabiztosabban vezesse be a témát az órán.

Philip: With AI reshaping education and the workplace, what key skills will learners need to thrive? If we eventually develop Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), how might it transform the way we teach, learn, and adapt to new knowledge?

Joanna: Let’s treat this as two separate questions and topics. Learners as well as their teachers all need to adapt to this AI-dominated world to thrive. In a way they have already adapted to it to a certain extent because AI is already all around us – it’s used in social media, in internet searches, in online shopping, in smart appliances, etc. Generative AI is actually the relatively new player in the game, and it’s gaining more and more prominence. What we and most AI specialists tend to think is that in order to thrive, people will have to establish a collaborative and fluid relationship with GenAI.

Philip: Many educators and professionals may feel unprepared to engage with AI. What practical steps can they take to build AI literacy without needing a deep technical background?

Joanna: I think the best way to get started is to dive in! :) The amazing thing about GenAI chatbots, for example, is that we can talk to them as if they were real humans, so if we don’t know where to start, we can just ask a chatbot to tell us how to use them.

Another thing I’d like to mention is that if we look beyond GenAI chatbots, it’s getting more and more difficult to confidently state that one hasn’t used any AI technology at all. AI is integrated in most of our word processing software in the form of spellcheckers, grammar and style assistants. Some software applications do even more like watch out for inclusive and politically correct language. AI is also integrated into the search engines we use not just in the form of an algorithm but many search engines now produce an AI-generated response excerpt before giving us the links. What this means is: it’s going to get increasingly difficult to say that “no AI has been used in the writing process.” This raises super important questions about teaching and assessing writing, but that’s another topic!
