Ez az eszköz tökéletes a tükrözött osztályteremben alkalmazott aszinkrón tudásátadáshoz, de élőben is működik, hogy rövid interaktív feladatokat adhassunk ki. Ahogy Jani mondta, a Nearpod kb. a Mentimeter és a Kahoot keveréke, de van benne még rengeteg más tulajdonság is! Én is gyakran használom az egyetemi óráimhoz főként, ahol sok tükrözött osztálytermi és/vagy aszinkrón anyagot tervezek.
A Nearpod lényegében egy interaktív online prezentáció-készítő (ebben hasonlít a Mentimeterre meg a Wooclapre), amiben tartalom és interaktív slide-okat tudunk egymás mellé pakolni. Az összeállított anyagot pedig vagy élőben játsszuk le vagy aszinkrón módon adjuk ki házinak vagy előkészülésként. Mindkét esetben könnyen követhető ki mit hányszor és hogyan válaszolt meg, amit meg tudunk beszélni élő órán a tanítványainkkal.
Az interaktív slide-ok lehetnek quiz kérdések, szövegkitöltős, párosítós feladatok vagy memória játék. A Kahoot-ra hasonlító funkció pedig a "Time to Climb," ami egy izgalmas gamifikált kvíz. De mindezen felül más tantárgyak oktatásához is találunk kifejezetten hasznos anyagokat, mint pl. a virtuális szemüvegeket kiaknázó Virtual Field Trip, aminek segítségével különböző helyszíneket tudunk úgy megtekinteni, mintha élőben ott lennénk, vagy a különböző animált szimulációk és 3D modellek, melyek hihetetlenül élővé és tanuló-baráttá tudják tenni a természettudományok oktatását.
A legfrissebb újítása a Nearpodnak pedig a video bekapcsolása a slide-os felépítésbe. Ez azt jelenti, hogy vagy mi vesszük fel az anyagunkat, vagy Youtube-ról keresünk olyan videót, amihez kérdéseket és feladatokat szeretnénk fűzni. Ebből a szempontból nagyon hasonlít az oldal a különféle interaktív videószerkesztő weblapokhoz, mint az iSLCollective, Edpuzzle vagy Playposit. Funkcióik szempontjából nagyon közelítenek a különféle szolgáltatások egymáshoz, de a Nearpod még így is nagyon egyedülálló tanításkísérő oldal.

As Jani mentions in his presentation, Nearpod is basically the lovechild of Mentimeter and Kahoot, but it has many other exciting things to offer! I also use it quite often for my classes at university when I'm planning flipped or asynchronous materials.
Nearpod is basically an interactive presentation making website (this makes is similar to Metimeter and Wooclap), which lets us create various content- and interactive slides. The final product can then be played live during an online lesson or be given asynchronously as homework or a pre-task. We can track in both cases who said what and when in the form of easily understandable reports.
The interactive slides can be multiple choice questions, gap-fills, matching and memory games. And the function that makes it similar to Kahoot is called "Time to Climb," which is an enjoyable gamified quiz game. On top of all this, we can find a number of useful teaching materials for other subjects as well, such as the Virtual Field Trip that makes use of VR goggles. This function takes us to various present and ancient places around the world that we can explore as if we were right there. Or there are the animated simulations and 3D models which make teaching natural sciences much more enjoyable and student-friendly.
The latest addition to Nearpod is the ability to add flipped videos to your lesson. These videos can either be recorded or imported from Youtube. Once we have the video, we can attach the same question types that we would to the slides. This function is very similar to other interactive video editing websites like iSLCollective, Edpuzzle or Playposit. All these services seem to converge in terms of the functions they offer, but Nearpod still remains quite a unique teacher-supporting website.
